CNC manufacturing capability
Precision Inspection for CNC Parts
Feature-appropriate measurement planning for incoming review, first article, in-process control and final release.
Where this capability fits
Inspection supports parts where buyers need evidence that drawing requirements, interfaces and critical features have been evaluated and released.
- Parts with datum-related feature requirements
- Components with mating interfaces and hole patterns
- Turned parts with critical diameters and shoulders
- Cosmetic or visually screened components
What engineering buyers need us to assess
Measurement method
The method must suit feature size, access, geometry and required evidence.
Datum strategy
The inspection setup should reflect how the drawing defines the part.
Reporting scope
Buyer expectations for first-article, dimensional or final records are clarified before release.
From prototype to production
Every project starts with a drawing-led manufacturing review. The route is adjusted to part geometry, material, quantity and inspection requirements.
- CAD and drawing review
- Manufacturing assessment and process planning
- Prototype or first-article confirmation when required
- Controlled machining and in-process checks
- Final inspection, documentation and release
- Protective packaging and shipment coordination
Quality control for this process
Available methods include coordinate measuring systems, optical measuring equipment, contour measurement, visual inspection and screening systems.
- Drawing and critical-characteristic review
- First-article and in-process inspection as applicable
- Coordinate, optical, contour and visual measurement methods selected for the feature
- Final record review before packing and shipment
Files and information for review
STEP or STP is preferred for 3D geometry. A controlled 2D drawing helps identify dimensions, tolerances, threads, surface finish, inspection requirements and notes that may not be fully defined in the model.
- 3D CAD: STEP, STP, IGES, IGS or X_T
- 2D drawing: PDF, DXF or DWG
- Material and finish requirements
- Prototype or production quantity
- Critical dimensions and requested inspection records
Relevant industries
Precision inspection supports application-specific requirements across industrial automation, robotics, machine vision, electronics and automotive components.
Frequently asked questions
Can I request an inspection report?
Yes. State the required report scope, features and format with the RFQ.
Which inspection equipment will be used?
The appropriate coordinate, optical, contour or visual method is selected for the drawing feature and evidence required.
Does inspection replace drawing review?
No. Measurement planning begins with a clear review of the controlled drawing, datums and acceptance requirements.
